These are planning categories, not product specifications. Some “one-day” floors use polyurea base coats and polyaspartic topcoats rather than a traditional epoxy build.
What changes the quote
Grinding, coating removal, crack repair, oil contamination, and moisture problems can move a project well beyond a basic sound-slab price.
A solid-color system usually starts lower than full-broadcast flake, metallic, quartz, or fast-curing polyaspartic specifications.
Small floors can cost more per square foot because mobilization, grinding equipment, and minimum labor do not shrink in proportion to area.
Stem walls, stairs, vertical surfaces, occupied rooms, difficult loading access, and phased work add labor that floor area alone does not capture.
UV stability, slip resistance, chemical exposure, forklift traffic, thermal shock, and rapid reopening can require different products or extra layers.
Labor, insurance, product availability, scheduling, and contractor demand differ by market. A local site inspection is the only way to get a firm price.

A complete quote should identify surface preparation, repairs, primer or base coat, decorative broadcast if used, topcoat, edge work, cleanup, cure schedule, products, and warranty. Do not assume every low price includes the same scope.
DIY materials can cost less upfront, but equipment rental, preparation, repairs, coating coverage, and the risk of adhesion failure must be included in the comparison. Professional installation is usually the safer choice when the slab has cracks, contamination, moisture, or an existing coating.
