Commercial Flooring Project Brief Builder

Give contractors the same project information so their proposals are easier to compare. This tool creates a planning brief in your browser; it does not upload or store what you enter.

Describe the facility

Approximate answers are fine. A site visit and product data should confirm the final specification.

Facility use
Traffic and loading
Concrete condition
Operating exposure
Operational requirements

Your output

A clearer scope produces more comparable proposals

The finished brief will organize your project details and contractor questions. It is a planning aid, not a coating specification or code-compliance determination.

  • Facility use and loading
  • Concrete condition and exposure
  • Downtime and safety requirements
  • Questions every proposal should answer

Why these details matter

Moisture

Moisture can contribute to coating failures. Ask which test method will be used, where testing will occur, and how the product manufacturer limits will be documented.

Surface use

Forklift traffic, wet processes, chemical exposure, cleaning methods, and thermal cycling can point to very different resin systems and thicknesses.

Operations

The installation sequence, ventilation, cure schedule, phased access, and return-to-service plan can matter as much as the material price.

ASTM F2170 describes in-situ relative-humidity testing in concrete slabs and notes that excessive slab moisture can contribute to flooring and coating failures. OSHA 29 CFR 1910.22 requires workplace walking-working surfaces to be maintained in a clean, dry where feasible, and hazard-free condition. These references help frame questions; they do not select a coating or certify a project.

References: ASTM F2170, OSHA 29 CFR 1910.22, and 21 CFR 117.20 for food-plant construction and cleanability context. Confirm current requirements with the applicable authority, facility team, designer, manufacturer, and contractor.
